Beginning in Mona Vale, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Barrenjoey Locksmiths and Alarms was founded by a local family, George and Jeanette Ramsay in 1975. Over the 34 years of owning the business, George and Jeanette expanded the business to what it is today.
2009 saw the acquisition of the business by another local family, the Coltmans, Ian and Bev, and Lee and Kristy. Together they run the businesses current operations. Lee started out as an apprentice with the company and held various positions before becoming an owner and making the transition to one of our four directors.
Our community support program
Since our inception, we have been proud to support the local area. We have trained over 50 apprentices and continue to employ staff from the local area.
Currently, we employ over 25 local staff ranging from qualified alarm technicians, locksmiths and apprentices to our administration staff in our head office.
Our head office is conveniently located in Brookvale and also comprises of our showroom, service department and restricted key department. In order to cater for the entire Northern Beaches and beyond however, we still operate from our Mona Vale showroom.
From our fleet of 16 Mobile Workshop Service Vehicles, Barrenjoey Locksmiths and Alarms continue to provide the community with a fast and efficient 24 hour emergency locksmith services.

Ranging from Federal, State and Local Government Departments to schools, clubs, small businesses and multi-national corporations we manage their restricted and master key systems, alarm systems and maintenance and service issues.
